Romaric Richoux

Vicenza, capitale of the Veneto region, is a city that retains its roots with a huge architectural and cultural heritage because of that, this city is now since 1993 in the World Heritage of UNESCO. The site is located in the heart of the historical centrum near the Academia Palladiana and Church Santa Maria emblematique building from Palladio. The project  is in the corner of a street which gives it a special character.

The architectural conception of the Vinoteca derives from a complex process from historical sources from the city and the region.
The main idea was to transpose an sacred architectural concept into a public and housing building. The study of the historical sources likes romains or Palladio, particularity of the site and culture of the wine have been the actors of the realisation of the project.

The discovery of the project is in the image of the discovery of the wine. The skin, classic made of bricks and traditionnal stone from Vicensa coming from proportions conception dont reveal interiors spaces. The volumes are articulated around a patio / light wells in the way of the ancient Roman villas. The groundfloor welcomes the bar/restaurant and also the wineshop. The restaurant develops on a double height offering diagonal views in the main space. The second floor is reserved for seminars rooms, located to the north then the will not be on the sun and be disturbed by the sun in wine tasting. The basement is composed of a huge seminar room linked to the kitchen of the restaurant to create more consequent events. Finally the two last floors are for a small hostel and appartments organised around the patio who is also a roof garden. They also have a direct view to the Church Santa maria form Palladio ainsi also transversal spaces.
